Counselor Welcome

Welcome

Hello Parkmont Families!

My name is Kaitlyn Desautels and I am your school counselor for the 2022/2023 school year! I am very excited to work with the students, staff, and families at Parkmont Elementary. This will be my second year at Parkmont!

I was raised in Southern California where I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from California State University Northridge then moved further down south to earn my Master's degree in Counseling along with my PPS credential from the University of San Diego. I have experience working with students in grades K-12 both virtually and in person and have found a special place in my heart for the elementary grade level.

As an elementary school counselor I build a safe and supportive environment for students in the school setting. I enjoy getting to know each and every student while providing support in the domains of academic, social/emotional, and college/career exploration. The services I provide include:

  • Individual counseling
  • Small group counseling
  • Classroom lessons
  • Crisis counseling
  • Consultation with teachers, staff, and parents
  • Community resources and referrals

I am looking forward to working with you and your students and hope to make this a good year! I am ecstatic to announce that Parkmont will have a full time counselor for the first time this year and I am truly honored to fill this role. I am available at Parkmont Monday-Friday from 7:30-3:00pm.

If you have any questions about my services or any concerns about your student please feel free to contact me. My email is kdesautels@fusdk12.net and my office number is (510) 793-7492 Ext. 66105.

With Kind Regards,

Kaitlyn Desautels
